A fresh start – that’s how we always see a new year. However, not all of us can stick to our promises, commonly known as resolutions, while others completely give up as early as the first week of January … but not Rebel Wilson.
New Year, New You?
One of the most common entries on our long list is fitness, be it wanting to stay in shape, shed some pounds, or eat healthily. Let’s face it: as much as we want to change as the new year starts, it becomes easy for us to find reasons that prevent us from achieving these goals—that, or laziness gets to us.
If you’ve been having some difficulty finding the will or motivation to get up and moving, look up to the Pitch Perfect star, who has been looking slimmer these past few weeks. That’s because of her dedication to her new year’s resolution.
In January, Rebel took to Instagram to inform her fans that she would be embarking on a fitness journey in 2021, which she referred to as The Year of Health. Many supporters commended the decision she made while others said they were inspired to start changing their lifestyle as well.
Staying True to Her Words
But unlike other people who do it just for the ‘Gram, it looks like Rebel has really been pushing for herself and is keeping true to her words. Her trainer, Jono Castano Acero, gushed over her effort in doing what she had promised over an Instagram post.
The post showed a clip of the comedian doing rope slams, which, according to a study found in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research, intervals of this (30 seconds of the workout and a one-minute rest) greatly aided in metabolism.
Apart from this killer, Rebel also does cardio, which Jono said he advises to all his clients. One simple way to do this is to track and aim for 10,000 steps, which you can do so with a smartwatch.
The 39-year-old also spends time sweating through an assault bike, which is a stationary bike with a twist. Instead of just cycling, your arms are working too through a ski machine – plus, cycling gets harder as you pedal faster. Rebel does resistance band training and TRX as well.
So as you can see, anything worth having doesn’t come easy. Rebel may be a celebrity and have tons of money at her disposal but she chose to do things the hard way, which is laudable.
