Jimmy Lydon, 97, Born In 1923 – St. Elsewhere
Growing up with famous names in showbiz as relatives had a hand in sealing James J. Lyndon’s fate in Hollywood. He was the 5th of nine children who grew up with an alcoholic father. Lyndon also overcame a birth defect, and despite the shaky start in life, he made it on Broadway in 1937.
He transitioned to the small screen in the ’50s before delving behind the scenes. Lyndon has credits in Sunset Strip, 77, and M*A*S*H. As an actor, he last appeared in the 1987 TV series St. Elsewhere. He’s currently enjoying retired life living in Bonita, San Diego, with his second wife, Betty Lou Nedell.
