Jane Powell, 92, Born In 1929 – A Date with Judy
Born Suzanne Lorraine Bruce, Jane Powell is also one of the last living entertainers from the age of Classical Hollywood cinema. She achieved fame in her hometown Portland, Oregon as a singer, and she also toured the state selling victory bonds. In her teens, she moved to Los Angeles, and it wasn’t long before she signed up with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.
She utilized her acting talents in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and A Date with Judy. We last saw Powell in a 2002 episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. However, she hasn’t officially quit the industry, and she featured in the 2018 documentary Broadway: Beyond the Golden Age.
