Veteran TV show host Larry King bought his Beverly Hills Tuscany-style manor alongside his now ex-wife Shawn Southwick in 2007 for $11.75 million. Sitting on almost half an acre of land, the two-story home is massive indeed.

The 10,810-square-foot home comprises seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms, with other notable features being constructed from imported Italian limestone, Venetian plaster, a pool, and a poolside guesthouse. During his separation with ex-wife Shawn in 2020, Larry was forced to list the opulent home on the market and managed to sell it three months later for $15.5 million. King tragically died in January 2021 due to sepsis.

Brad Pitt – France, $60 Million

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie fell for each other after meeting on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith, and there was instant chemistry between the two. What followed was a whirlwind romance and the purchase of an enormous 74-acre estate in France for an estimated $67 million in 2008.

Fast forward a decade, and the couple separated, and a legal battle ensued over who would get custody of Chateau Miraval. The magnificent home is surrounded by acres of gardens, which the couple intended to use for producing wine. Today, the two actors are on friendly terms and jointly run the wine business as an investment for their children.

Dr. Phil – Beverly Hills, $5.75 Million

As a therapist would put it, the décor and design choices of the Beverly Hills mansion sold in January 2020 for a cool $5.75 million are pretty bizarre. And the home belongs to none other than Dr. Phil McGraw, a therapist himself!

The most controversial feature of Dr. Phil’s 6,170-square-foot luxurious home is a wall decorated with real guns and curse words. The estate has five bedrooms and six bathrooms, with its notable features being a heated pool, an outdoor kitchen, and a flagstone patio. McGraw’s successful TV show Dr. Phil has been on air since September 2002, and its 19th season is airing on CBS.

Jay Leno – Rhode Island, $13.5 Million

Comedian and TV talk show host Jay Leno’s pockets are loaded, but he is usually frugal when buying anything. While it’s no secret the former host of The Tonight Show has a love affair with old, classic cars, we wouldn’t normally expect him to splurge millions on a nine-acre mansion, would we?

Well, that’s precisely what Leno did in 2017, purchasing an enormous oceanfront palatial estate in Newport, Rhode Island, with 12 bedrooms, a tennis court, and a beach for $13.5 million. In the fall of 2021, Leno is set to preside over the revival of the 1970’s game show You Bet Your Life.
