Marla Gibbs – Born In 1931
Marla Gibbs still has a spring to her step at 89, and she’s never lost her incredible acting talent. In 2020 we saw her in episodes of The Last O.G. and One Day at a Time. However, she gained recognition when she featured on The Jeffersons as Florence Johnston, George Jefferson’s maid.
Gibbs starred in Checking In, a spinoff of The Jeffersons, and 227. For the latter series, she lent her vocals for the theme song and co-produced the show. Before she ventured into showbiz, Gibbs worked for United Airlines as a reservations agent. She has three children from her first marriage to Jordan Gibbs.
